  • Azuma Bukuro (Cloth Sack) Making

    1. 東袋づくり体験

    2. This is a simple bag made by sewing a single piece of cloth approximately 297mm long and 420mm wide in two places. This type of bag originated in the Edo Period when commoners were inspired by the bags carried by Westerners and began sewing together furoshiki (wrapping cloths) and hand towels. You can also attach a shoulder strap and wear it as a cross body bag.
