There are many programs which can only be experienced at this event!

Some experience programs may be available for advance booking. As the day is expected to be crowded, please make a reservation in advance for your desired experience program.

  • Make and Play a Shamisen!

    2. A space where you can experience the shamisen, a traditional Japanese musical instrument. It is an incredibly fun experience where you can make your own shamisen and learn how to play the song “Sakura Sakura” on it. Foreign visitors are also welcome to participate.     2. Experience making a beautiful Japanese-style coaster that highlights the natural coloring of the wood. The coasters are made with a combinations of rare woods such as ebony and rosewood, hard and sturdy woods which are also used to make Tokyo Buddhist altars. Experience making durable and long-lasting chopsticks from beautiful fine wood or imported woods such as ebony and rosewood, which are so dense and hard that they sink into water when submerged. Keep polishing and polishing...   • Flame Art: Cloisonne Ware Workshop (The 850°C World)

    2. Starting with a pile of cloisonne glaze (glass glaze), brightly colored glass powder is placed on top and fired in an electric furnace at 850°C or higher. You can feel the 850°C heat and then see how the color of the cloisonne (glass) changes as it cools.

    2. Participants make an their own unique pendant by drawing a rough sketch on a silver plate and engraving the pattern by chiseling the lines. For returning visitors who have done this last year or the year before and want to try something new, this year we will also offer a separate ring-shaped pendant with a hammered pattern that can be engraved on the side with numbers such as dates or initials if they want.
