  Jewelry requires a combination of precious metals and jewels. Ishitome was developed as a way to attach gems to metal. On stage, we will showcase some of the more famous of these techniques.

  Creating an enormous soccer ball by utilizing a spherical processing technique

  We will show you the production of spheres that make use of the malleability and ductility of metal. On stage, an enormous soccer ball with a diameter of 80 cm will be exhibited, and skilled technicians will use specialized wooden stands and anvils to show their techniques of spherical processing.

  What role will the competition of the Skill Olympics and Abilympics play in fostering skilled craftsmen for supporting the future of Japan? What are the merits for anyone or enterprises to enter to the competition? Prior to the 2021 National Competition in Tokyo, we will engage in thought-provoking discussion with the medalists!

  Watch former kickboxer Masato challenge in the authentic interior skills of "Replacing wallpaper with stage backpanels!"

  • Tokyo Naisoshiage Ginoushikai

  A special stage by a master of interior furnishings and former kickboxer Masato, the official supporter of the 2019 Monozukuri - A Celebration of Japanese Artisanal Techniques.
  Six interior furnishings craftsmen and Makoto will perform basic interior furnishing skills such as replacing wallpaper with a stage background.

  Ceremony to Present Certifications of Appreciation to Regional Artisans (Takumi)

  We will award highly skilled technicians recommended from the cities and municipalities of Japan as "Regional Artisans" who are active in the area.

  The origin of all performance art in Japan, the "Daikagura"

  • Daikagura Kyokugei Kyoukai

  The Daiikagura consists of four core pillars: "Dancing," "Acrobatics," "Storytelling" and "Instrumental Sounds." With an array of elements that can be said to be the origin of performance art, audiences will enjoy it along with a contemporary production.
