  Demonstration of building Japanese-style room Wood shaving and sawing experience

  • National Federation of Construcion Workers' Union Tokyo

  Japanese-style room, a room with unique Tatami mats in a traditional Japanese house.
  A comfortable space divided by fittings such as Shoji and Fusuma with light and wind moderately taken into and out.
  A architect carpenter presents a demonstration of Japanese-style construction including elements that make up a Japanese-style room with, such as Shikii and Kamoi which are to fit Syoji and Fusuma, Tatamiyose which is to space between Tatami mats and wall, Nageshi which is a crossbar fixed above the crossbar with grooves, and Mawarifuchi which divides the ceiling and the wall with a crossbar.
  Carpentry tools that have been handed down to craftsmen for generations will also be exhibited.
  
  Also, here you can experience a plane cutting and sawing that you rarely see these days.
  Please try them as the plane has been adjusted for ordinary persons to use. Please take a chance to try how to hold and cut with it.
  The plane cutting and sawing experiences are only available on the day.

  Craftsmanship of manufacturing, including automobile manufacturing, has a great influence on factors that Japan was able to achieve as one of the world's leading technological nations.
  In this event, "TOYOTA2000GT" which was produced in the Showa 40s and was named as a super car will be on display.
  Actually get in the car, you can see while explaining the automobile manufacturing technology at the time. ※ To get on, a numbered ticket is required. We will distribute it at the venue on the day.
